The Bea Martin Peck Animal Shelter is located at 230 West 19th Street in Ottawa, KS and is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 1-5:30 and Saturday from 9-noon. Please call the Shelter at 785-242-2967 or email bmpas.pet.inquiry@hotmail.com with questions.
From Kansas City: I-35 South to 59 Highway, which is exit 183. Exit turning north and proceed to 17th Street. Turn west on 17th Street and proceed one block to Elm. Turn south on Elm and continue approximately three blocks to the Shelter parking lot.
From Wichita: I-35 North to 59 Highway, which is exit 183. Exit turning north and proceed to 17th Street. Turn west on 17th Street and proceed one block to Elm. Turn south on Elm and continue approximately three blocks to the Shelter parking lot.
From Lawrence: 59 Highway south to 17th Street. Turn west on 17th Street and proceed one block to Elm. Turn south on Elm and continue approximately three blocks to the Shelter parking lot.
We also partner with the Heart of America Humane Society in hosting off-site adoption events featuring cats and dogs each Saturday from noon-3 at the Petco at 95th & Quivera in Overland Park, KS.
Additionally, a minimum of five cats are housed at this location until permanent placement can be found. If you are interested in adopting a cat featured at PETsMART and are unable to meet us during our adoption hours, please call the Shelter at 785-242-2967 to make other arrangements.
